Xiaomi shares are available to buy through the DEGIRO platform. You can find them on the Hong Kong stock exchange which is available at the broker and you will find it by searching the stock in the handy search bar, or under “Exchanges in Asia and Oceania” in the more detailed search function.

The Hong Kong exchange is the second-largest in Asia by market cap according to current data, just behind the Japan Exchange Group, while it is currently the fifth-largest in the world by the same measure.

The very first step in the process will be to register your DEGIRO account (Investing involves risk of loss). You can do this by visiting the broker website and clicking the “open an account” button first of all. Step 2 – Deposit funds into your trading account

Once verification is complete you will be ready to trade. This means making a DEGIRO deposit. Again the process is easy and there are no minimum deposit requirements imposed.

The deposit methods available to you will vary based on location, but bank wire transfer, Sofort, or other local payment methods may be accepted. Credit and debit card deposits are not supported at this time, and only payment from within Europe can be accepted but a good range of base currencies are supported.

You can find a complete analysis on this issue by reading our DEGIRO Minimum Deposit guide for more.

Step 3 – Place your order with DEGIRO

Your account is open, your money is in, you are now ready to buy your Xiaomi shares and others.

All you need to do is search Xiaomi in the platform search bar, click the asset to go to the related page where you will find a green button for buy, or red for sell. When you are ready to buy, hit the green button and you will be directed to enter the order specifics.

This means choosing the order type, inputting the maximum price you want to pay, and the number of shares to see the total cost. You will also select if this will be a day order or one that stays open until you manually cancel it (GTC).

With everything set, simply press the blue “Place Order” button for a final page to appear when you can confirm everything is correct. Once confirmed you can place the order and wait for it to execute through the platform.

DEGIRO Xiaomi Share: price feeds

Currently, live pricing is not offered by DEGIRO on the Hong Kong Stock exchange as well as for Canada, Australia, and Tokyo. What is offered though, is end-of-day pricing, so if you hold these positions, your balance should typically update at the end of that trading session.
