FxPro vs XTB: A Comprehensive Comparison of Two Brokers

When it comes to selecting the right broker, it is important to consider various factors such as security, demo accounts, account opening, social-copy trading, markets, trading fees, platforms, education, and customer care. This article aims to provide a comprehensive comparison between two popular brokers, FxPro and XTB, in terms of these factors.

Security

Both FxPro and XTB are highly secure brokers with multiple regulatory bodies overseeing their operations. FxPro is regulated by FCA, CySEC, FSCA, and SCB (Bahamas), while XTB is regulated by CySEC, FCA, KNF, IFSC, DFSA, and FSCA. Both brokers have a security rating of 95, which indicates that they are highly reliable and trustworthy.

Demo Accounts

FxPro offers a demo account with a duration of 180 days and virtual funds of $100,000. The virtual funds of the FxPro demo account can be restored directly from the FxPro Direct dashboard. On the other hand, XTB offers a demo account with a duration of 30 days and virtual funds of $100,000, which can be restored by contacting customer support and renewed indefinitely. Overall, FxPro offers a more extended demo account period, which gives traders more time to practise and refine their skills.

Account Opening

FxPro requires a minimum deposit of $100 and offers multiple account types, including MT4, MT5, cTrader, Spread Betting, Islamic, and VIP accounts. Traders can fund their accounts via wire transfers, credit/debit cards, and eWallets. XTB, on the other hand, has no minimum deposit requirement and offers standard, Islamic, and professional accounts. Traders can also fund their accounts via wire transfers, credit/debit cards, and eWallets. Overall, XTB is a better choice for traders who prefer not to invest a minimum amount.

Social-Copy Trading

Both FxPro and XTB do not offer social-copy trading features. Therefore, traders who prioritise social-copy trading may need to consider other brokers.

Markets

FxPro offers a broad range of markets, including 70+ forex pairs, 15 commodities, 18 indices, 28 crypto assets, 2000+ stocks, and 22 futures and options. All assets are offered as CFDs, which means that FxPro is more suitable for short-term traders. On the other hand, XTB offers 57 forex pairs, 27 commodities, 30 indices, 46 crypto assets, 5000+ stocks, and 500+ ETFs. While all assets are also offered as CFDs, XTB also offers real stocks and ETFs for EU clients. Therefore, XTB is a better choice for traders who prefer to invest in real stocks and ETFs.

Trading Fees

FxPro offers both variable and fixed spreads, with variable spreads starting from 0.1 pips on forex (lower than the market average) and fixed spreads starting from 1.6 pips on forex (higher than the market average). XTB offers only variable spreads, with spreads starting from 0.3 pip on forex (below the market average). XTB also offers zero-commission real stocks and ETFs for European traders on a monthly volume of up to EUR 100,000. After this amount, there is a commission of 0.2% (10 EUR minimum). Overall, XTB offers more competitive trading fees.

Platforms

FxPro offers various trading platforms, including FxPro EDGE, MT4, MT5, and cTrader, available via web, desktop, and mobile devices. XTB, on the other hand, offers the xStation proprietary platform, which is available via web and mobile devices and is user-friendly and intuitive. Both brokers offer multiple trading platforms, but XTB’s xStation platform stands out as being more user-friendly and intuitive.

Education/Customer Care

FxPro offers limited education materials, with only basic video tutorials and PDF guides available for beginners and very few resources for professionals. However, customer care is easily accessible via phone, email, and live chat, with support available in over 30 languages. XTB, on the other hand, offers well-equipped education materials, including FAQs, blog articles, eBooks, trading videos, and seminars. Customer care is also easy to contact via phone, email, and live chat.

Conclusion

Overall, while both FxPro and XTB are highly secure brokers, XTB may be a better choice for traders who prefer not to invest a minimum amount, prioritise competitive trading fees, and want a more user-friendly and well-equipped education system. However, FxPro offers a more extensive demo account period and a broader range of markets, including futures and options. Ultimately, traders should carefully consider their individual preferences and needs before selecting a broker.
